Use Your Words - Jokes

Today’s post is a writing challenge. This is how it works: participating bloggers picked 4 – 6 words or short phrases for someone else to craft into a post. All words must be used at least once, and all the posts will be unique as each writer has received their own set of words. That’s the challenge, here’s a fun twist; no one who’s participating knows who got their words and in what direction the writer will take them. Until now. My words are:

Swim ~ joke ~ mixed up ~ swear ~ glass

They were submitted by: Baking In A Tornado  - Thank you, Karen!

Having a bit a of a hard time coming up with a "regular" post using these words, I figured, why no telling you a few jokes?

Here goes:

What did Cinderella wear on her feet when she went swimming?
Glass Flippers

Speaking of Cinderella... Why did she got kicked off the football team?
Because she kept running away from the ball!

Where do the fish keep their money?
In river banks

Where do sharks go on summer vacation?
Finland

Where do sheep go on vacation?
The BaaaHamas

Did you hear about the guy in 1981 who got LSD and LDS mixed up?
Instead of going on a trip, he went on a mission.

What did the ref say to the chicken who tripped a defender?
Fowl!

Why the the fox cross the road?
He was chasing a chicken.

Why did Adele cross the road?
To say HELLO from the other side.

A gorilla walks into a bar and says "A Scotch on the rocks, please" and hands the bartender a $10 bill. The bartender thinks to himself gorillas don't know the prices of drinks and gives hi 15 cents change. "You know we don't get too many gorillas I here", he tells him. The gorilla replies "Well, at $8.85 a drink, I swear I ain't coming back either!"

I hope these made you smile.

Probably better to tell you some jokes than to rant about my car not entirely being fixed, or the fact that I'm still super tired after suffering from a pretty severe Covid vaccination reaction two weeks ago. Oh, and simultaneously the battery of my Apple Watch had a bad reaction to my being Microsoft microchipped. Did I mention our "summer" break consists in waiting for the five minutes it stops raining - only to resume pouring down on us? Many lake and riverside neighborhoods have been flooded, and people had to leave their homes.

  1. Your jokes made me laugh, you and I and chickens crossing the road go way back, don't we?
But what made me laugh the hardest was the Apple/Microsoft comment.

  5. Your jokes made me laugh tooo and an inventive way to fulfil your challenge. Doing jokes in a second language is impressive in itself since humour doesn't always translate. I don't remember jokes very well but my favourite is - A Scotsman, a Welshman and an Irishman walk into a bar and the Barman says "Is this some kind of joke?".
