The Best!

Welcome back to another episode of A'lil Hoohaa's monthly photo blogging challenge. 

Our prompt for the month of January was "The Best", which leaves a lot of room for interpretation. 

Here goes.

By pure coincidence - well, we had time to kill before puck drop, and I'm always looking for nice footage for my intro - we came across this cute outdoor rink in Bellinzona. I guess it's there during the Holidays plus a week or two in January. Is it the best? I can't tell. It certainly has a scenic backdrop.

Not the best team that participated in the IIHF U18 women's world championship that took place in Switzerland. Actually they ended up 7th out of 8, but hey, we beat the Germans. Two of Colin's former teammates were part of the Swiss national team, and we were so very proud of them. Who won? The U.S. Ladies. They played incredibly well.

Best random bird shot at the lake. Thank you, seagull. 

Best Snow Night. Certainly very cold.  it was 19°F. The passenger car doors were "stuck frozen", meaning they couldn't be opened. Caused some delay, but we managed to board the car on the driver side and get there in time.

Literally one week later, Colin had another game in the Italian speaking part of Switzerland. it was a crazy game where our support staff got a penalty for unsportsmanlike conduct. Read about it here if you're interested. The weather is typically much nicer and warmer than on the North side of the Gotthard pass (where we live), so we thoroughly enjoyed a spring-like afternoon at Lake Lugano.
