Last month, A lil Hoohaa launched a monthly video challenge, inviting us to take a theme and turn it into a personal project. March’s topic? “My story.”
I quickly realized this wasn’t the kind of assignment where you can just capture a few lighthearted clips, add music, and hit publish. It required real thought. Where do you even begin telling your story?
Since English isn’t my first language, I felt a bit self-conscious about narrating the video myself. So I went looking for alternatives and ended up using a text-to-voice tool that worked really well for me.
Another challenge? Keeping it short. I’m not 20 anymore; my story has a few extra chapters. (Let’s just say my baby pictures are in black and white!) The brief was to stay under three minutes, and I’ll admit right here: I failed. Even after cutting and editing, I landed at four minutes and twenty seconds.
So, thank you for your patience.
This is the link to the video.
Now I’m curious: if you had just three minutes to tell your story, what would you include, and what would you leave out?
