Ultimate Blog Challenge - Describe your ideal Day, from Beginning to End

Welcome back to the October Ultimate Blog Challenge. Today's prompt is to

Describe your ideal Day, from Beginning to End

I don't even know where to begin.

Are we talking about a work day? A vacation day? Any day?

Well, no matter what kind of day I am about to describe, if it's an ideal day, it'll start with a good night's sleep. Frankly, any day I can sleep through the night, is a good day.

There will be coffee, even if I was able to sleep in.

A former IHOP chef will make pancakes for me, and I will enjoy my peace and quiet. I guess I am telling you I'll have breakfast alone. If my family is around, they will not ask me things that start with "where is...", "what time is..." and the like.

A limo driver will come and pick me up. Here's what's going to happen: He'll take my body to the gym to get in shape, whereas I am going to have fun.

In the meantime, back home, something amazing will happen. A team of organization specialists will clean up our house. They'll sort through stuff, throw away things we haven't used in a long time, donate what's still good and neatly arrange the stuff we need to keep. They will also take care of the list. You know. Change light bulbs and batteries, do small repairs and maintenance.

So what am I going to do with my day?

Let me think.

We'll stop at the hair salon. I need my hair to look good on my ideal day.

The weather is going to be nice right? Otherwise we'll just go to the mall, and once I'm tired of shopping, I'll sit at Starbucks and use my notebook to work on my blog.

Today, however, there's going to be blue sky and sunshine with temps in the mid 70s.

There are domestic destinations on my travel bucket list that I would love to visit. One requires a 3 hour car ride, and a 45 minutes' hike. It's called lac bleu, blue lake.

We'll pick up my friend. She deserves an ideal day as well. Plus I'm not going to hike alone!!

I understand in the summer months (or until snow falls) there is a little restaurant nearby that serves Fondue and Raclette. That's what we'll have while we enjoy the stunning view and catch up on each other's lives. It's unreal how we live so close to each other and still never get to see each other.

Later we'll descend and return to civilisation. That's what I call coming from a remote nature destination to a place that has cell reception, convenience stores, traffic lights and buildings. Remember, some people call me City Girl.

We may stroll along Lake Geneva, in search of a nice dinner place.

What makes nice dinner place "nice"? The absence of smokers on the outdoor patio, the absence of whining kids and obnoxious tourists among the other guests, instead there's friendly and attentive waiting staff, yummy food and a working ventilation so your clothes won't smell of whatever you or the other patrons were eating.

Maybe we'll be joined by some surprise guests? Friends we haven't seen in a long time? That'd be nice!

Since it's getting late we won't drive home that night, even though we have a chauffeur. Instead we'll check into a hotel room that is clean, modern, spacious and soundproof. The TV comes with free Netflix, the mattress and the pillow have a perfect firmness. Yeah, yeah, call me the Princess and the Pea. We're talking about my ideal day here. I'm all about comfort and convenience.

You can probably tell we've recently had some less than ideal accommodation experiences.

Did I mention that somebody packed my overnight bag for me? They will also do the unpacking and laundry part upon coming home.

During the whole day I didn't spend a lot of time checking my phone. If there were messages, nobody needed anything from me, they just wished me a wonderful day and told me I deserve it.

How was that for an ideal day?

Would yours be similar? Would you do entirely different things? Let me know!

  1. Oh my goodness, your day sounds SO good! I think mine would start in a restaurant here that used to be a tea room, so it still has wonderful tea. That's where I'd have breakfast. Then shopping at the mall! Followed by a lovely lunch at Olive Garden (formerly THE Olive Garden) and then a drive to look at fall leaves. Mind you, getting to the fall leaves might edge my ideal day into the next one, unless I could fly and then rent a car. OR, I fly to pick up my friend Martha DeMeo and we both go visit our Brenda Fluharty, and we all go look at fall leaves in the rented car, and then have dinner, after which I fly home.

  3. I enjoyed experiencing your ideal day with you! Made me giggle and smile. My ideal day would probably include time outdoors, creating and exploring along with deep conversations and not "having" to do anything, simply choosing love in every moment.

  6. What a super ideal day! For me, my ideal day would be spending time in the mountains, photographing the wildlife and scenic views. It's so peaceful when we sneak away, hardly no internet and I don't even miss that! I hear the mountains calling my name and we're packing up this weekend for my ideal day!

  7. Your ideal day sounds like heaven. I imagine that mine would be similar or maybe I'll tag-a-long on your ideal day as long as the hike is not too difficult to manage. :) - Elisa
