This year's A - Z Challenge was inspired by one of those random social media posts you keep seeing from time to time.
It made me think of how things have changed since I grew up, and what better way to explore this offline lifestyle than to write about it for an entire month?

As every year my goal was to pre-write all 26 posts. I can't tell you how, but somehow, for the first time in 12 years of participating, I managed. I just knew I wouldn't have time to write posts from scratch in April and visit and comment on all the other bloggers' posts. Mainly because I had to cover full-time for my coworker who was recovering from her motorbike accident.
Not unlike previous years, the amount of bloggers participating in this writing challenge dropped, I counted 143 bloggers on this year's master list. There were 171 last year and 217 in 2024. I remember when I first started, there were about 3,000!
Well, since I can't consistently follow more than two handfuls, it doesn't really matter, right? As always, it was great to see some old acquaintances back and meet some new blogger buddies. Thank you for your company; this is what makes the hard work worthwhile!
Jamie (Jannghi.blospot.com): I wrote my reflections post today as well. Wanted to get it done before returning to regular blogging.
ReplyDeleteWhen you said you'd be ding an 80s theme, I knew I had to read your posts. It was fun going back to the decade I grew up in.
Another thing that was popular in the 1980s was the Rubik's Cube. I never got one, not the actual brand name one, that is. But I did get one that was a mail-in offer from Chez Cereal, with Chex cereal bits on one side and different fruits on the other side.
I'm glad you had fun with it. Things have changed since I was a kid too. I think about that a lot.
ReplyDeleteI'm always impressed by your blog posts and how informative they are. I enjoy them very much. I've only been doing the Ultimate Challenge Blog for about a year or so now. I can't imagine 3,000 participants. It would be very difficult to keep up!
ReplyDeleteI think pre-writing the posts is actually good and I had tried that this year but I still ended up re-writing almost all of them so I guess I'm not good at sticking to what I pre-write.
ReplyDeleteI have noticed the numbers of participants had dropped but that's fine to me. I barely have time to visit 10 people so anything below 200 is actually good besides I see a couple of people signing up but they aren't actually participating in the challenge.
I may have skipped a few serious topics but I enjoyed your posts. Congrats on finishing the challenge.
Have a lovely day.
Congratulations on completing the A to Z. I enjoyed being reminded of some things and seeing your take on others.
